This website is presently experiencing some difficulty with its login area for members as well as its joing system. MSA is aware of the problem and will be fixing it as soon as we can. We will be upgrading the program to 7.0.9 within the week and adding features in the process.
How To Join:
The first step toward joining is to fill out the form below and submit it. Even if you ultimately want to become a "Full" or "Lifetime" member you first must join (or register) as a "Standard" member. Once your account is created you will be able to use the site as a "Standard" member and able to upgrade your membership.
Click on the sequence steps below for examples of what to expect thru the process:
- Submit form and screen confirmation appears. In most cases you will be able to access your acount instantly.
- Meanwhile an email is waiting for you (check your spam folder too).
- It reads something like this.
- Click on the confirmation link and you will be taken to your account (again). You've then joined. Congradulations! While in your account, explore all the features and become familiar with your options.
Upgrading:
If you wish to upgrade your membership to "Full" or "Lifetime", the following steps are for you:
- Once in your Account Home (Dashboard) click on the My Membership tab. Here you will see your status and membership upgrade options.
- Select an option and you will enter the PayPal payment portal. Confirm your order and return to the site. Done.
- Important Please Note: Please click once on the membership upgrade option and wait. If you click several times, the program will add to your cart several times. Sometimes connecting to PayPal will take longer than usual since it is a secure server. Check your cart, if there are more items than you intend, delete and try again.
Profile Picture:
To change your Avatar (profile image) click on the "Avatar" tab within your Dashboard and you will be taken to the area where you can upload an image or select from pre-loaded avatars.
There are plenty of reasons to join MSA - chief among them is that you will be supporting and engaging in a collective creative community of fellow performer/songwriters. Standard Membership is free and entitles you to MSA Newsletter and access to the MSA Member Area for Maine Songwriters. Also referred as "Basic" membership.
Full Membership entitles you to all of the benefits of the basic membership plus discounts to all MSA events, the opportunity to perform at MSA events. Play-for-pay gigs will be offered when they come up. Also, you help finance MSA projects and events. Remember that all payments and donations are tax deductible.
Lifetime Membership entitles you to receive all the benefits of the other membership levels plus you receive free admission to all MSA events. You are also listed with honorable mention on special website pages and other MSA media. Your contribution greatly helps us reach our goals.
- Create and update profiles: This feature is at the heart of the system. One may maintain their bio as they evolve as a singer/songwriter. This includes the use of profile images also called “avatars, videos and other content.
- Friend one another: Members will be able to save friendship contacts and keep-up on their activity.
- Send private messages: This is a private messaging system, similar to that found on Facebook. Users can choose whether or not to receive an email notification when someone sends them a message.
- Join groups: Groups can be used for a wide range of subjects within MSA Members. Administrators will create groups based on common interests/topics. Suggestions for new groups can be made to MSA.
- Follow activity streams: The streams provide a quick digest of the recent activity going on within a site or with regard to a particular user.
- Use blogs: Be able to make postings of your current status and receive discussions on it. (when activated)
- Easily return to the main site with a click: The main site is where the events, venues, news, tools, and other supportive information resides.
